Host Dean Rotbart talks with Kyle Cox and Kristin Bustamante of Thanksgiving.com, a new website dedicated to the Thanksgiving holiday. With the tagline “America’s Home for Giving Thanks,” Kyle and Kristin discuss their plan to turn Thanksgiving.com into the go-to site for all things Thanksgiving by taking advantage of their highly valued, one-word domain name. Even though it is a site dedicated primarily to the Thanksgiving holiday, themes of gratefulness, giving back and connecting with family keep the site relevant year-round.
In the interview, Kyle and Kristin also discuss their approach to the website’s design and content, which they describe as “backward.” They also talk about how they partnered with the domain name’s owner, Digimedia, to help get the website off the ground, and their plans to turn Thanksgiving.com into a million dollar per year business.
Kyle Cox is the CEO and co-founder of Grateful Ventures, the media company that runs Thanksgiving.com and is in charge of advertising at the digital magazine. Kyle is also the former president and founder of SheKnows.com, a popular digital magazine for women, which he sold in 2012. Kristin Bustamante is a co-founder of Grateful Ventures and editor-in-chief of Thanksgiving.com. She is the former editorial director of SheKnows.com.
