A domain name is an identifying name in a URL and represents the IP address of a server. For example, in the URL http://businessingmag.com/tag/business-success, the domain name is businessingmag.com, which represents the IP address of the server on which it resides. Every domain name has a suffix (eg. .com, .edu, .org) that represents the top level domain (TLD) it belongs to.
