The world of social media is such a magical and complex place. Between beautiful pictures, tons of hashtags and live streaming content, it can be hard for a company to figure out what to do and where to start when it’s time to build a strong brand online. If you’d like to see growth in your company’s social media efforts, it’s a wise idea to implement these four essential strategies sooner than later.
Brand Ambassadors
There’s a reason why companies like Yelp and Amazon have specific sections solely dedicated to reviews. People love to learn about the experiences of others. They want to know if they liked the product. If they didn’t like the product, consumers want to know the reasons why. This process helps people make the best decision regarding where they should spend their hard-earned money. Brand ambassadors are people who are trusted by many and have built a strong platform on their own. You connect with a brand ambassador whose endorsement of your product would be seamless and authentic. For example, if your company sells products for naturally curly hair, Kim Kardashian would be a terrible brand ambassador because she has bone-straight hair. Whether you choose celebrities or people who have amassed a large following online, this is a great strategy to get your product or service in front of a new crowd and gain sales.
Advertising
Both Facebook and Instagram are known for their fantastic advertising programs. While they may not be the easiest to figure out, implementation of social media advertising can really be fruitful. With most social media advertising programs, you can target your desired customer really well. You can target them based on their age, sex, hobbies, location, and more. Because it’s easy to target your ideal customer so well, it’s wise to create a customer avatar. Sit down and think about your ideal customer and really get into their head. Figure out what marketing tactics they’d respond to the most and get the details of their everyday life such as favorite tv shows, hobbies, income range, and age. Once you get that specific, it’s much easier to invest money into a strategic advertising campaign.
Consistent Content Creation
Content creation is the gas that keeps the car running. If you don’t consistently update your social media feeds with compelling content, you’ll lose engagement. There are so many options within a strong content creation strategy. Take beautiful, high-quality photos. You can use a smartphone to create beautiful photos. Just make sure the lens is clean and remember that natural light is your friend. Download apps like VSCOcam and Afterlight to edit and polish the photos. Use the same filter with the photos on your feed to create a sense of consistency. When it comes to online content, remember that video sharing is going to continue to dominate as the best content to produce. A great example of this is ACN and their use of vimeo and sharing their videos (like their video, “Is ACN a Pyramid Scheme?”) from there onto other platforms, like LinkedIn.
Customer Engagement
It’s a good idea to get into the habit of engaging with your fan base on a consistent basis. It’s one thing to talk about what your company does. It’s another thing to talk about what the company can do for your customer and why your product or service would make their life easier. Get them to engage with questions and conversations. Find out their pain points and what they are in need of. Speak to that need and do your best to make sure the company is the answer to that need. Like photos. Comment on other people’s pages. When people leave compliments or comments under your content, respond and acknowledge them. Once your account grows to a certain size, it’ll be difficult to continue to acknowledge everyone. However, you can still try by engaging with a few.
As long as you intentionally use these methods and intentionally become consistent with your strategies, you’ll find that your company’s social media power will increase. When it comes to social media, you can always bet on a solid return on your investment.
