5 Tips for Entrepreneurs to Deal with Stress During COVID

This year was quite an unusual one for billions of people in countless countries around the globe. Business owners especially found this year to be unlike any other they could remember, and still, the chaos continues. Instead of shopping in stores, people are shopping for groceries, clothing, shoes, and even medical boots online!

We’re all aware that entrepreneurs were among the people most affected by this perilous pandemic. If you’re a business owner and you’re feeling more stressed or anxious than usual, join the club! Many business owners are feeling this way after this mad whirlwind of a year. However, that doesn’t mean you should just stay stressed. These are a few things you can do to destress and feel that much better.

It’s Okay

As the saying goes, “You can’t change that which you can’t accept.” Yes, you’re stressed and that’s okay. Don’t get stressed about being stressed! Live with your emotion; you’re stressed out, and life is still okay. A pandemic is traumatic, and you’re at the forefront of the fight against it — being anxious is a normal reaction, and it’s okay to feel this way. Once you know it’s okay, you’ll feel less stressed as a result.

Care for Yourself

Have you ever heard the expression, “The shoemaker’s children go barefoot?” As you care for everyone else, don’t forget to care for yourself, too! Keep in mind that when you care for yourself, in the long run, you’re caring for those you care about, since you’ll have more energy to care for them the way you want to.

Stay in the Moment

Focus on the present. If you’re contemplating the past or worrying about the future, you’ll be more likely to be stressed. If you focus on what’s going on right now, you’re less likely to be anxious.

Practice Positivity

Think about all the good things in your life. Try to think of five positive things every morning as you travel to work and force yourself to feel truly thankful for them. When you realize how many good parts there are to your life, the stressful parts won’t bother you quite so much. Positivity really impacts your stress levels positively, so practice it!


Exercise is a natural and healthy method to keep yourself more relaxed, and less stressed. Whether it’s jogging, biking, or walking to work every morning, find a way to implement some exercise into your daily routine – it’s a proven stress reliever!

Yes, life may be stressful, but remember, being stressed is okay. Be sure to care for yourself just as well as you care for everyone else, stay in the moment, practice positivity, and exercise! All of these are sure methods to let out that stress. Try them; you’ll feel so much better.
